5 killed in Sirajganj road crashes
Sirajganj: Five people, including two siblings, were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Sadar and Ullapara upazilas of Sirajganj on Monday morning.
Three people, including two siblings, were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Banbaria Bazar on Sirajganj‐Kodda local road in Sadar upazila in the morning.
The accident took place when a bus and a CNG‐run auto rickshaw collided head‐on around 70:30am, leaving Al‐Amin, residents of Choubari village in Kamarkhanda upazila dead on the spot and four others injured, said officer‐in‐charge of Sadar Police Station Helal Uddin.
The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital where Abuds Sobhan, and Belal Hossain, of Choubari village succumbed to their injuries, the OC added.
In another incident, two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured as a truck hit them at Neorgachha on the Bogra‐Nagarbari Highway in Ullapara upazila in the morning.
Rajibul Karim, sub‐inspector of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, said the Nagarbari‐bound truck from Bogra hit the motorcycle carrying the trio in the area around 9.15am, leaving Chaina Pal, wife of Shangkor Pal, a resident of Lalor village in Singra upazila of Natore district, and their daughter Tuli Pal, dead on the spot and Shangkor Pal injured.
Injured Shangkor was admitted to Hatikumrul Memorial Hospital.
