Thakurgaon: A man was killed and several others were injured as a nor’wester lashed several upazilas of Thakurgaon on Saturday.

The deceased is Manik, in his twenties, of Kandail village under Haripur upazila.

Quoting witnesses, Ruhul Kuddus, officer‐in‐charge of Haripur Police Station, said: ‘A plate of solar panel fell on Manik around 2:30pm while a storm was sweeping through the village, leaving him dead on the spot.’

Several other people were reported to be injured in different areas of the district as well.

Besides, the storm damaged a large number of houses, paddy fields and uprooted trees in different upazilas.
