Dinajpur boiler blast death toll now 12

Dinajpur: Eight more people, who suffered burn injuries in a boiler explosion at a rice mill in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur on 19 April, died on Sunday, raising the death toll from the incident to 12.

They succumbed to their injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in Dhaka, Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

All the deceased are Ranjit Bosak, manager of the rice mill, and workers Shafiqul Islam, Udoy, Delwar, Dulal Chandra, Anjana Devi, Mosaddek Ali, Ariful Haque, Rustam Ali, Mukul Chandra, Munna and Ripon.

Two workers, including a female one, were killed and 28 people suffered burn injuries as the boiler went off at Jamuna Auto Rice Mill at Gopalganj village in Dinajpur Sadar upazila On Wednesday.

Of the injured, 14 were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning. Besides, another died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Friday.
