Naogaon: An eight-year-old died after fell into a pipe of a deep tube well at Atrai upazila in Naogaon on Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Rakib Hossain, son of Abu Bakar, a resident of the village of Jamgram at the upazila.

The Naogaon fire service deputy assistant director Morshed Alam said Rakib went to the field along with his father to harvest paddy on Wednesday morning. Rakib fell down into the pipe of a deep tube well while he was playing near the borehole at about 9:00am. Later, local people called the fire fighters.

After conducting rescue operation for three hours, the fire fighters recovered the body of Rakib. Fire fighters handed over the body to the Atrai police, said Morshed.
