Gazipur: Two people were killed in a road accident at Ashpara on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Sreepur upazila on early Thursday.

Police said the accident took place when a Mymensingh-bound pickup van hit a truck, standing on the roadside, from behind, leaving pickup van driver Al-Amin dead on the spot and owner Aminul Islam injured.

Aminul succumbed to his injuries on the way to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital.
