Panchagarh: Two truck drivers were killed and their two assistants injured as two trucks collided head-on on the Panchagarh-Dhaka Highway in Boda of Panchagarh on Wednesday morning.

Identities of the deceased were not available immediately.

The Boda Police Officer-in-charge AKM Nurul Islam said the accident occurred around 11:00am in front of the RDRS office in Boda, killing two truck drivers on the spot.

The accident halted the vehicular movement on the highway, causing long tailback and acute sufferings to the commuters, he said.

Three teams of Fire Service and Civil Defence from Panchagarh, Boda and Thakurgaon are conducting a rescue operation in the area, he added.
