Keraniganj: A joint team of fire service and river police rescued two passengers, who went missing as a trawler capsized in the River Buriganga in Sadarghat area of Dhaka on Monday night.

Meanwhile, at least eight people are still missing in the incident.

Local people said that the trawler carrying around 85 passengers sank in the river due to rough weather around 10:45pm while heading towards Jinjira ferry terminal.

All but ten people managed to swim to safety.

On information, fire service and river police rushed to the spot and carrying out rescue drive.
