3,200 landslide victims in Rangamati shelter centres

Rangamati: Over 3,200 landslide-affected people in the district have so far taken shelter in 19 shelter centres.
Manjarul Mannan, deputy commissioner of the district, said the number of people seeking shelter is on the rise due to incessant rains.
Army, Border Guard Bangladesh, Police and Red Crescent have been provided more financial and food assistance to meet the demand for the increased number of victims, he said adding that the district administration has been providing relief materials, found from several organistions, to the shelter centres.
Primarily, some 700 people came to the shelter centres after the deadly landslides hit the district that took some 118 lives, reports news agency UNB.
