Sirajganj: Four people, including three members of a family, were killed and two others injured when a bus rammed a microbus on the Dhaka-Bogra Highway at Ghurka Beltala in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj early on Thursday.

The deceased are Mili Begum, around 30 years, wife of Harun-or-Rashid, her son Sagar, 13, Mili’s father-in-law Solaiman, in his sixties, of Kahalu upazila and Abdul Khalek, in his thirties, a microbus driver of Dupchachia upazila of Bogra district.

The accident took place around 12:45am when a Kurigram-bound bus of Dhanshiri Paribahan hit a microbus coming from opposite direction, leaving four passengers of the microbus killed on the spot and two others injured, said Abdul Gani, a sergeant of Hatikumrul Highway Police.

The injured were taken to local hospital.

The family met the tragedy while heading towards Dhaka airport to receive Harun-or-Rashid, said police.
