Gazipur: Two members of a family were killed and four others injured in a road accident near Narayankul Nagda Bridge in Gazipur on Sunday morning.

Police said the accident took place when a Gazipur-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw, carrying six members of a family, collided head-on with a truck around 8:30am, leaving Malati Rabi Das and his brother-in-law Suvash Rabi Das dead on the spot and four others injured.

The injured were taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, said sub-inspector Mamun of Salna Highway Police Station adding, the victims, residents of Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district, were going to Gazipur to attend a marriage ceremony.

Police seized the three-wheeler and the truck, the SI added.
