At least two people were killed and 20 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two buses at Alamkhali in Magura on Magura-Jhenaidah roadon Thursday night.

One of the deceased is Habibur Rahman, 32, while another has yet to be identified, reports the UNB.

Elius Hossain, officer-in-charge at Magura police station, said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Chuadanga collided head-on with another passenger bus coming from opposite direction in the area at 11:00pm, leaving two dead on the spot and injuring others.

Of the injured, 12 have been admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital while the rest have been released after giving first aid, the OC added.

However, drivers of the both buses managed to flee the spot. Two bodies have been sent to morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed in Magura police station. Investigation is going on, the OC also said.
