Fireman killed train accident

A fireman was killed after being hit by a train at Cantonment Railway Station in Dhaka city on Saturday morning.
The deceased is Abu Taher Mia, 43, hailed from Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur.
He was posted in Fire Service and Civil Defence office at Uttara Export Processing Zone in Nilphamari, reports the UNB.
Mizanur Rahman, mobilising officer at Fire Service and Civil Defense control room, said Abu Taher reached Dhaka to appear at professional promotion test.
‘When he stepped down from a Nilphamari train at the station, another train coming from opposite direction hit him, leaving him injured critically,’ he said.
Later, he was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
His body, then, was taken to Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters in Dhaka for namaj-e-janaza.
Later, the body will be taken to Dinajpur for burial, he added.
