Miscreant hack trader at Ashulia

Ashulia: Miscreants hacked a jhut trader and almost cut off his hands, over a reported personal dispute, at Ashulia in Savar on Tuesday night.
An allegation was made against a local union council member for plotting the attack over the trader, Bappi Mia, at about 11:00pm in Kaichabari area.
Ashulia Police officer-in-charge (OC) Mostofa Kamal said a group of miscreants, led by Dhamshona union ward no 8 member Halim Chowdhury, indiscriminately hacked Bappi while he was taking tea at a tea-stall.
The miscreants open-fired and left the spot.
Local people rescued Bappi and took him to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, added the OC.
Halim Chowdhury denied his involvement in this connection and said the charges brought against him are false.
Enam Medical College Hospital director Anwarul Quader Nazim said Bappi received critical injury all over his body including his hands. His condition is critical due to excessive bleeding.
