Narsingdi: Train communications of Dhaka with Chittagong and Sylhet were restored in the early hours of Friday after seven hours of suspension following derailment of a train at Ghorashal railway station in Palash upazila.
Palash police officer-in-charge Sahadat Hossain said two compartments of Sylhet-bound, Kalni Express, veered off the tracks at the railway station at about 7:30pm on Thursday, halting train movement of the Dhaka-Chittagong-Sylhet route.
10-12 passengers of the two compartments were also injured in the accident and they were rushed to a local hospital, said OC.
However, the train services on the two routes resumed after a relief train salvaged the bogies at about 3:00am added the OC.
