Dhaka: Two labourers were killed while asleep as a truck hit another truck, which was parked by the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Dhamrai in Dhaka in early hours of Sunday.

The deceased are Harun Aur Rashid, residence of South Bathuli village in Dhamrai, and Dulal Mia, from Bhagamanpur village of Manikganj Sadar thana.

Police said the victims were sleeping in a truck in which they were carrying canes to Savar. Another truck from the behind rammed the canes-laden truck in Deutia area at about 5:00am. Harun and Dulal fell from the truck and were run over by it.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex.
