Rangamati: A man was burnt to death as fire broke out at Reserve Bazar in Rangamati at about 12:30midnight on Sunday. Three shops and a house were also gutted by the fire.

The deceased Rubel, 22, a resident of Chittagong, was also owner of a destroyed shop.

Local people said the fire destroyed a furniture shop, a furniture factory, a grocery shop and house of a Musa Saudagar. A fire fighter unit went to the spot and doused the flame.

Rangamati deputy commissioner Mohammad Shamsul Arefin visited the spot.

The reasons behind the fire and loss incurred due to the fire could not be known immediately.
