Chittagong: Muggers looted Tk 1 crore after shooting three people at Mithachhara bazar in Mirsarai upazila in Chittagong on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Emran Uddin, owner of three filling stations, his manager Jahangir Alam and driver Barun Chakravarti.

Mirsarai police officer-in-charge Imtiaz Bhuiya said, Emran Uddin was going to Pubali bank branch at Mithachhara bazar for depositing Tk 1 crore collected from his filling stations on Sunday morning.

When the private car carrying Emran and his manager reached near the bank six muggers riding in two motorbikes appeared there. The muggers opened fire on them and looted the bag containing the money, leaving the trio injured with bullets.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
