Owners of a readymade garment on Tuesday closed factory for indefinite period at Ashulia in Savar due to countrywide shut down and blockade enforced by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led 20-Party Alliance.

Southern Sweater factory authorities paid around 300 labourers for a month and 16 days and put a closure notice at the entrance of the factory on Tuesday morning. 

The factory director Ilias Mia said the factory has been closed for the lack of work orders from foreign buyers due to the current political instability in the country.
