A man was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) member at Bishoykhali in Jhinadah Sadar early Tuesday.
The deceased was Rafiuddin Tareque, 38, a resident of Bishoykhali village.
Juba League Bishoykhali union unit general secretary Abdur Rashid Jhantu said Tareque was vice president of Juba League at Maharajpur union unit.
Jhantu blamed RAB for nabbing Tareque while working at the field. He also said Tareque was a day labourer.
Jhinaidah police sub-inspector Gokul Chandra Adhikary said Tareque was killed in a gunfight with RAB at about 1:45am. Tareque was involved in three cases filed against him.
The body was recovered from Mehgani garden in between Chatulia and Tetultala on Tuesday morning, he added.
