Jhenaidah: A college girl was killed and her mother and brother were injured as a truck crashed into their motorcycle at Kodalia Munshipara in Sadar upazila of Jhenaidah on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Tushi Khatun, in her twenties, a fourth year student of Jhenidah Government College.

Sadar Police officer-in-charge Hasan Hafizur Rahman said the speedy truck hit the motorcycle in the area at about 10:30am when Tushi along with her mother and brother Rajib was going to Hatgopalpur from their village by the bike, leaving the college girl dead on the spot and the two others injured.

The injured were admitted to local hospital.

Police seized the truck and arrested its driver, the OC added.
