Thakurgaon: Local people caught two members of Pirganj police while allegedly taking bribe from a motorcyclist at Gogor in Ranishankoil upazila in Thakurgaon on Thursday.

The policemen are Nur Alam, assistant sub-inspector of Pirganj Police Station and constable Mamun.

The accused policemen aided by some local goons were taking bribe allegedly from the unregistered motorcyclists in the area on Thursday.

Sensing the matter, local people caught the two policemen.

Later, both policemen were released after assurance of taking action against them came from Pirganj and Ranishankoil police.

The Ranishankoil police said the matter will be informed to the high officials concerned of police.

Farhat Ahmed, superintendent of police, said action will be taken against the two policemen if they are found guilty.
