Dhaka: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Monday said the deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank will be usually appointed on contractual basis.  

'The deputy governors will be appointed on contractual basis as it was done in the past as contractual appointment is good,' he told media in replying to a question on appointment for the vacant posts of deputy governors of the central bank after coming out of a meeting with Speaker of Bhutan's National Assembly Lyonpo Jigme Zangpo at his Secretariat office. 

The immediate past deputy governors may be reappointed as the process of appointing new people in the posts is time consuming, he also said.  

During the bilateral meeting, they have discussed the issues of mutual interests of the countries, meeting sources said. 

'We have a good relation with Bhutan and we are importing boulders for construction of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge,' he said, adding that the relation is also increasing day by day.
