NBR to organise ‘Halkhata Day’ marking Pahela Baishakh
Like the previous year, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) will organise ‘Halkhata Day’ marking Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year.
But this year the day will be celebrated on April 15 instead of April 14 as the first day of the Bengali New Year is a holiday, reports the UNB.
NBR Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said this while talking to reporters at his office on Tuesday.
He said the revenue collecting authority will consider an incentive for the taxpayers if they pay their dues on that day.
Books will be distributed as gifts among taxpayers on April 15, he added.
The NBR last year started celebrating Bangla New Year for the very first time in its history.
