Dhaka: State-owned banks (SoBs) will recruit manpower through fresh tests, not from those who came out successful in written test previously.

Bangladesh Bank (BB) revealed this on Friday through a press release.

Referring to an official note of the finance minister which he gave on the letters of the SoBs to the Bankers Selection Committee (BSC), the central bank said the committee has been instructed to recruit manpower for Sonali, Janata and Rupali banks through fresh exam and not from those who passed the written test in 2013-14.

The release said BSC has been implementing the decision of the Banking Division regarding the manpower appointment in the SoBs.

The finance minister, in his note, said: ‘At present, no body from the passed candidates would get appointment. Already three years have elapsed after the last examinations. Exams should be taken in a fastest pace.’

‘I want to know about exam date, result date and also the date of new appointment. I also want recommendations about the number of recruitments,’ said the Finance Minister in his official note.

Under this circumstance, the central bank said, the authorities concerned have been directed to take necessary measures in this regard.
