Dhaka: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to keep open the customs houses on 9, 10, and 11 September, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to facilitate export and import activities of readymade garments, reports BSS.

‘Customs houses in Dhaka, Chittagong, Mongla, Pangaon, and Benapole will remain open to provide services to the country's main export sector readymade garments,’ the NBR said in a media release.

Customs Bond Commissionerates in Dhaka and Chittagong, as well as Inland Container Depot at Kamlapur, will also remain open from 9 September to 11 September to provide services to exporters.

The NBR also requested other authorities such as ports and banks to keep services on for three days beginning on 9 September.

The revenue authority has taken the step based on the appeal from apparel exporters, said a senior official.

However, the government has declared 11 September a holiday as part of a six-day long vacation starting from 9 September.
