Dhaka: Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) on Thursday donated blankets to Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund for the cold-hit people of the country.

President of the Association Md Nazrul Islam Mazumder handed over the blankets to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said receiving the blankets the Prime Minister thanked the BAB leaders for coming forward to help the poor.

Thanking them for responding to her requests whenever she made the Prime Minister said the private banks are contributing a lot to the development of Bangladesh.

Mentioning that the distribution of blankets has already been started, Hasina expressed her firm determination to reach the blankets to the cold-stricken people in the remote areas of the country.

PM's Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, AL President's Private Sector Adviser Salman F Rahman, and high ups of different private banks were present.
