Cox’s Bazar RO writes EC for 2 helicopters
Cox’s Bazar: The returning officer (RO) and deputy commissioner (DC) of the district on Saturday said they have requested the Election Commission (EC) to provide them two helicopters for patrolling in the remote areas of the district on the election day.
The two MI17 helicopters will be used to ensure security in remote islands and coastal areas of the district, said DC Md Kamal Hossain at a meeting at a city hotel, reports the UNB.
Attending the seminar on ‘Women’s Participation and their Security during election’ as the chief guest, he said, ‘On the election day a platoon of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) along with a magistrate will travel to four remote areas in the district on a helicopter while another will remain standby to be used if any imagery situation occurs.’
Any kind of anarchy during on the voting day would not be allowed, he also warned saying ‘Members of Army, Police, Rab, Coast Guard, Ansar and BGB will jointly maintain tight security on December 30.’
