Dhaka: The post-production work of a trailblazing full length feature film Deho Station, written and directed by Ahmed Tahsin Shams, has been completed and soundtracks of the film were released on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.

The tracks have been digitally released by etunes on their website etunes.com.bd where listeners can purchase their preferred songs rendered by Fahmida Nabi, Tanzir Tuhin, and Shamayla Behroze Rahman, said a press release.

Besides playback, Neel Kamrul has directed the music while the lyricists are Ahmed Tahsin Shams, and Ishtiyak Foysol.

The titles of the songs are ‘Bondhu Bihone’ by Fahmida Nabi; ‘Shotto Mitthar Kundoli’ by Tanzir Tuhin; and Hangsha Das Baul’s ‘Shyam Onge’, rendered by Shamayla Behroze Rahman.

The film, starring Moumita Mitra (Kolkata), Shahadat Hossain, S M Mohsin, Hossain Mohammad Belal, Ahmed Rana, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, Farhana Iva and many others, is expected to be released by the end this year.

The story is centred on a sexworker and her daughter, the way they survive in society. Even if they attempt for a better future, the consequences caused by the surrounding have been explicitly pictured in the film.

‘Shotto Mitthar Kundoli is a new-genre song which tells the story, yet tells nothing,’ said Tuhin. ‘This is one of the songs I would proudly offer my fans,’ Tuhin added.

Fahmida Nabi said, ‘Bondhu Bihone is a tragic romantic song which could be seen from many characters’ perspective.’

‘The film is pictured in black and white to picturise the gloom-life of prostitutes,’ said Ahmed Tahsin Shams.

‘The film experiments with a few styles of film-making including story-telling, character-design and speech-delivery,’ the director added.

Trailer of the film is available on YouTube channel of etunes, music videos are being screened on Gaangabangla Television, and songs are being aired on Radio Amar FM 88.4, Radio Today FM 89.6, Dhaka FM 90.4, Radio Dhoni FM 91.2 and many other private radio stations.

Moumita Mitra, over the phone from Kolkata, said, ‘This is my first work for a Bangladeshi film. I am eagerly waiting for its release.’ When asked about the music of the film, she said, ‘The songs, their tunes and lyrics, well-portrayed the content of the film.’

It is to be mentioned that Moumita Mitra has acted in telvision drama serials in Kolkata. She played prominent roles in Indian Bangla full length feature movies such as Ashok Biswanath’s Broshto Tara, Bappaditto Bandapadhyaya’s Shohora Bridge, and Sumaiya Sen Gupta’s short film Kalomash.

On the other hand, Shahadat Hossain, who has been paired up with Moumita Mitra in this film, is too excited about the film’s aesthetic quality.

‘The film is expected to reach a good height,’ he ascertains, ‘The making of the film, the screenplay and music will pave the journey to success.’

Shahadat Hossain has recently worked with Bollywood artistes such as Rahul Bose and Shahana Goswami in Rubaiyat Hossain’s forthcoming film Under Construction where Shahadat has paired up with Bollywood actress Sahana Goswami, who has acted in Bollywood films such as Ra-one, Rock On, Firaaq, Yun Hota to Kya Hota.
