German Helios Theatre to stage ‘H2O’ at Shilpakala
German Helios Theatre on Monday will stage ‘H2O’, a theatre performance for children, at 3:00pm at the Experimental Theatre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The performance H2O is about water. We seem to know everything about this element, but when we take a closer look at it, it is full of surprises and it’s still a mystery to scientists up to the present day. It is enormous power, sputtering life and sparkling joy. May it be as a melting ice–block, a shimmering fountain or as ascending damp, as a refreshing drink or a sweeping wave, as an element of sound or reflector of light, in this performance it always takes on new forms. It inspires performers and audience alike and generates a poetry that gives us an idea of the Wonder of Life. It starts with one single drop …
The Helios Theatre was founded in 1989 and is remarkable as a Theatre for and especially with children. Since September 2004, two theatre pedagogues work together with the ensemble on different artistic concepts with and for laymen. For years there is the work strand of ‘theatre and school’: Production projects with pupils, advanced training for teachers and regular discussion forums between artists and teachers belong already for years to the concept of the Helios Theatre.
