Bangladesh Bijoy Utsab in Kolkata from 15-19 Dec

Bangladesh deputy high commission in Kolkata will organise a five-day-long Bijoy Utsab (Victory Day Festival) this year for the first time to commemorate the Liberation War of Bangladesh and its independence in 1971at Netaji Indoor stadium.
Deputy high commissioner of Bangladesh Zokey Ahad said there would be cultural programmes which will cater Nazrul Giti, Rabindra Sangeet, Baulgan, Lalangiti, Sufi, Bangla band along with film shows, reported the Times of India.
‘Even there will be dance performers from Bangladesh. Some of the well-known artistes who are going to attend the programme between 15 to 19 December are — Runa Laila, Arian, Kusthia’s Lalan troupe, Krishnakali.’
‘Products from Bangladesh such as Dhakai jamdani, Rajsahi’s silk along with ceramic producs are to be displayed at the Bijoy Utsob. The prime attraction for the visitors to the Bangladesh Victory festival would be Kacchi Biriyani, Bhuna Khichri along with Pitha (deserts) from Bangladesh.’
