Dhaka: In a shockingly candid post in Facebook fanpage on Thursday, singer and actor couple Tahsan and Mithila, jointly opened up about the collapse of their 11-year-old relationship.

In the post on Tahsan’s Facebook page, the couple said: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we would like to jointly announce that we are getting divorced.’

Talking about the turning point of their relationship Tahsan and Mithila say, ‘After several months of trying to reconcile our differences, we have decided that we would rather go separate ways than be in a relationship out of social pressure.’

Meanwhile, the rumour of Tahsan-Mithila splitting up for last few days upset many fans of this couple on social media who held them up as an example of a ‘perfect couple’.

The recently-divorced couple write, ‘We realize that this probably comes as a shock to a lot of you and we wholeheartedly apologize about that. We have always conducted our relationship with dignity and grace, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.

Tahsan and Mithila jointly request their fan and followers to support them in their tough times, they say,’ We hope you will all treat us both with kindness during this difficult phase of our lives.’

On 3 August 2006, popular musician Tahsan married model and actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila. Together they have a daughter named Ayra Tehreem Khan.
