Prime Minister like a mother to me: Shakib Khan
Popular Bangladesh actor Shakib Khan received the national film award for the third time. He received the crest from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at National Film Award-2015 ceremony, held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Monday.
Shakib Khan and Mahfuz Ahmed jointly won the Best Actor award for their performances in ‘Aro Bhalobashbo Tomai’ and ‘Zero Degree’ respectively while Joya Ahsan won the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Zero Degree’.
Later Shakib told NTV Online: ‘National film award is the highest accolade for an artiste. The award has inspired me to work with more enthusiasm. It also creats a sense of responsibility. I have to deliver more quality works. The audiences has made me capable of getting the award. The audiences watched my movies despite so much hurdles. Many came and left, but my audiences never left me behind. I dedicate this award to my audiences.’
When asked what the Prime Minister told him when she gave him the award, Shakib said: ‘Prime Minister is like a mother. She is affectionate like any mother. She inspired me about my works. Her words brought tears to my eyes.’
‘When I was talking with her, I felt I was talking to my mother. The Prime Minister knows everything’, Shakib added.
Shakib Khan has two movies in his hands now. The movies ‘Ahongkar’ and ‘Rongbaz’ will be released in forthcoming Eid.
