Finally, ‘Padmavat’ has a release date

After the Padmavati debacle last year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Albeit not fully in his favour, Padmavati will now finally see the light of day on 25th January this year, reports Masala.
The good news is that the filmmakers magnum opus has been cleared by the censor board with a U/A certification, and the bad news is that the historical drama will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man.
The filmmaker was also strangely asked to change the name of the film from Padmavati to Padmavat, leaving fans confused.
However, the fact that they’ll finally get to watch Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in action, is more than enough reason for fans to rejoice.
While we await the release of one of 2017’s most sought after film, we can’t help but wonder why Bhansali was asked to change the name of the film. What do you think of the new name?
