Kazi Abu Bakar Siddiky, popularly known as Kazi Riton, has been working in the media sector of Bangladesh very actively since the year from 2000.

Riton, a prolific media personality, started his career in the arena as one of the partners of ‘5.com’, where his other partners were famous actresses Bijori Barkatullah and Srabonti, popular singer Partho Barua and renowned film and TV producer Tuhin Barua. Critically acclaimed drama serial ‘Ditio Jizon’ was one of the major productions of ‘5.com’, which ran successfully on ATN Bangla channel in 2003.

As a person who loves to take challenge and in pursuit of his dream, Riton and Tuhin Barua started another company ‘Pathik’, which is now one of the most prestigious names in the media sector of Bangladesh.

‘At ‘Pathik’ I was the Executive Producer of several cult productions i.e. Drama Serial, Naikar Name Naam (on BTV), Ebong Bie (on ETV), Moyur Bahon (on Channel One), Khwab (on ATN Bangla), Society (on Channel One), Valobasha Mondobasha (on NTV), which have been running successfully in these popular television channels in Bangladesh’, said Riton.

‘I was also an Associate Producer of one of the blockbuster film of Bangladesh Film History ‘Ridoyer Kotha’ along with Bangladeshi mega-star Riaz and Purnima’, he added.

As the managing partner of ‘Protibimbo’ with famous actress Bijori Barkatullah, Kazi Riton was responsible producing another lot of quality productions i.e. Groho Konna (on NTV), Biborno Valobasha (on NTV), Kache Dure (on Bangla Vision), Nire Nirbashon (on BTV), Ottri (1hour drama) on Desh TV, Prottagoto (1hour drama) on BTV, Shuvo (1hour drama) on RTV, Drama serial Manush Mohajon (on Diganta TV) etc.

Now, Riton owns ‘Black & White’. Black & White Film Production is the IFE content service provider to Bangladesh Biman (national carrier) with contents, across all genres of film, television, audio, games and more.

Moreover, Kazi Riton also serves as the Chief Media Advisor at ‘SRK ShowTime’, one of the biggest foreign entertainment content providers in Bangladesh, which is responsible for television screenings of numerous popular foreign drama series dubbed into Bengali i.e. MacGyver (on BTV), Superman, Robin Hood, Star Gate SG 1 & Tarzan (on Channel i), Smallville (on Channel One), Lost & Witchblade (on RTV), Sinbad and The 3 Stooges (on ATN Bangla), cartoons — Tom & Jerry, ThunderCats (on Desh TV), Film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (on Channel i) etc.

He is members of Television Program Producers Association of Bangladesh, Club WE (Media Club), Rotary Club and AD Club.

He is an extensive traveler too. He travelled USA, UK, Switzerland, Italy, France, Sweden, Norway, UAE (Dubai), Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and India.

When asked about his future plan, Riton said, ‘I want to thrive more as a person who wishes to take Bangladeshi culture and media further internationally and I want to contribute to the Bangladesh media as long as breathe my last.’
