Sonam Kapoor along with her Veere Di Wedding co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhaskar came out against the Kathua and Unnao rape cases last evening (April 14).

She and her colleagues posted pictures of themselves holding a placard that had written on it, ‘I am Hindustan. I am Ashamed. #JusticeForOurChild. 8 years old. Gangraped. Murdered. In ‘Devi’-sthaan temple. #Kathua.’

A few days ago, when this news had actually broken out, the actress had even posted, ‘Ashamed appalled and disgusted by fake nationals and fake Hindus. I cannot believe this is happening in my country.’ She had posted this after reading about the incident on New York Times’ website, reports the Bollywoodlife.com.

While several people appreciated her for speaking up, looks like Bollywood actress Koena Mitra is not so happy with her choice of word. In fact, Koena slammed Sonam for giving the Kathua rape case a communal twist and blaming an entire religion for this incident.

Koena posted some screenshots of other victims and wrote on Twitter, ‘Any comments @sonamakapoor? You condemded a heinous crime (I appreciate) but gave it a communal twist ‘Fake Hindus.’

Kindly do the same for all . How can you blame an entire religion for this Rape. These victims are ours too! #justiceForAll.’ Shocking isn’t it?

On the professional front, Sonam will be seen next in Veere Di Wedding alongside Kareena and Swara. Koena, on the other hand, has been away from Bolywood since a while now.

She was last seen in a Bengali movie – Besh Korechi Prem Korechi in 2015. Anyway, stay tuned to BollywoodLife as we get you all the latest dope and updates from B-town right here.
