It was a starry, starry night in Mumbai on Tuesday at a grand wedding reception for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja. The guest list was a veritable who’s who of Bollywood and a crowd of A-listers were pictured at The Leela hotel, where the reception was held, reports NDTV.

Invitees included Shah Rukh Khan with wife Gauri, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor - yes, they came together - Kareena and Karisma Kapoor with Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Kangana Ranaut, Rekha, Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty, Swara Bhasker, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan with Siddharth Roy Kapur, designer Masaba Gupta, Rishi Kapoor with wife Neetu, Jackie Shroff, Shatrughan Sinha. Oh, and the Ambanis - Mukesh and Nita Ambani attended with son Akash and his fiancee Shloka Mehta; Tina Ambani came on her own.

Aishwarya, who missed the wedding ceremony, showed up on the arm of husband Abhishek, with whom Sonam co-starred in films such as Delhi-6.

Katrina Kaif, stunning in a red Manish Malhotra creation, was accompanied by sister Isabelle.

Brahmastra co-stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were pictured together, looking very couple-y as the Internet will no doubt comment on. Ranbir and Sonam made their debuts together in Saawariya.

As per usual, Kareena (in gold Manish Malhotra), Karisma and Saif put up a united front.

Plainly, an invite to the wedding reception of someone as stylish as Sonam Kapoor brings with it fashion pressure of a sort - Rekha showed up in one of her famous kanjeevarams, except that she wore it in an avant-garde drape that we never would have thought to see her in.

Kangana, one of the first guests pictured at The Leela, was dressed in a stunning rose and gold saree (reportedly a gift from sister Rangoli, not on loan for the evening from a designer), standing out in a sea of designer lehengas. She wore pearls and rubies at her throat and in her ears.

Kajol looked very glamorous in a Manish Malhotra outfit.

Rani Mukerji wore a beaded lehenga in pale gold and maroon by favourite designer Sabyasachi.

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, made a lovely picture.

Shilpa Shetty, wearing a Tarun Tahiliani outfit, was escorted by husband Raj Kundra.

Madhuri Dixit, who co-starred with Anil Kapoor in films such as Tezaab and Beta, was pretty in pink.

Sonam Kapoor, in a grey and gold Anamika Khanna lehenga, and Anand Ahuja, wearing sneakers with his sherwani, posed for pictures at the reception.

Family members photographed included father of the bride Anil Kapoor, uncle Sanjay and aunt and cousin Maheep and Shanaya Kapoor.

Sonam Kapoor - Kapoor Ahuja, we should say - and Anand Ahuja married in an anand karaj, the traditional Sikh ceremony, on Tuesday morning. Guests at the wedding included the Bachchans, Aamir Khan, Kareena, Karisma and Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Swara Bhasker and several other Bollywood A-listers.

The pre-wedding ceremonies included two mehendis - family and close friends only were invited to the first, celebs like Katrina Kaif and Shilpa Shetty were at the second.
