A teaser of director Birsa Dasgupta’s film Crisscross has been recently released. This is one rare Bengali film where all the central characters are females.

Shree Venkatesh Films is producing the film. The film is based on writer Smaranjit Chakraborty’s best seller novel by the same name. Apart from Birsa Dasgupta another young generation director Mainak Bhaumik is also associated with the film but not as a director. He has written the adapted screenplay for the film, reports allaboutbanglacinema.org.

The film features not one or two but five female characters in the central role. It will tell the stories of these five ladies who are very different from each other. Their stories will crisscross with each other.

Birsa has roped five talented actresses to play these characters and these ladies are Jaya Ahsan, Sohini Sarkar, Nusrat, Mimi Chakraborty and Priyanka Sarkar. Jaya Ahsan is working with Birsa Dasgupta for first time, rest of the girls have worked with him earlier.

Earlier Swastika Mukherjee was also supposed to be a part of the cast but later she opted out of the film and Jaya Ahsan replaced her.

Apart from these leading ladies, the cast will also include Arjun Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakraborty, Indrashis Roy, Mainak Banerjee, Ambarish Lahiri and Ridhima Ghosh in significant roles.
