Actress Saba Qamar trolled for smoking, wearing ‘revealing clothes’ in leaked pics

Pakistani actor Saba Qamar has become the target of vicious haters after some behind-the-scene images from her latest shoot leaked online where she can be seen smoking. The Hindi Medium actor is clearly in the moment as she gets ready for the shoot. It is evident that she is in the midst of a dress change, when the pictures were taken.
Saba’s colleague also had to face online harassment after photos of her smoking with Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor, while in New York, found their way to the internet. Mahira had to issue a clarification eventually. Trolls brought in Mahira again as they attacked Saba. One person wrote, ‘Saba Qamar has also begun following Mahira Khan. Is she even Muslim anymore?’
Saba is among Pakistan’s top actors. In the rather stylish ‘behind the scenes’ pictures, Saba is wearing a white shirt while her coat/blazer is being removed by an assistant. The hair looks wet and combed backwards. She is holding a cigarette in her right hand and wears an assured expression on her face.
That is enough to get the trolls going with some accusing her of being another Mahira Khan in the making, wearing skimpy clothes and to being un-Islamic, reports hindustantimes.com.
The actor has, however, maintained a dignified silence and some of closest colleagues have come out in support of her including Osman Khalid Butt, Adnan Siddiqui and Aijaz Aslam.. Noted Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui, slamming the haters, wrote: ‘Came through what’s being called BTS images of my colleague and a friend #SabaQamar’s recently done photoshoot which is spreading on social media like wildfire, I’m deeply saddened by this act, this is not us and we shouldn’t take pride in it in any manner! #support #friendship.’

Osman Khalid, who acted in TV drama Baaghi with Saba, has written an Instagram post criticising the haters. ‘For the love of God, stop looking for every excuse to drag your icons down... Stop sharing these images/videos and stop commenting on them. If you want to speak out, speak out against the jahalat of whoever did this just for social media infamy,’ read a part of his Instagram post.
Lifestyle journalist Mishaal Cheema posted a long note on Twitter, defending Saba while attacking trolls of all hue and colour who use an amazing media like Twitter for all the wrong reasons. Sharing her post, she wrote: ‘This message is for a very fine actress of Pakistan who is going through something ridiculous being done to defame her. Saba made her Bollywood debut with Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium in which she played his wife. How they try to get their daughter admitted to a high-profile school in urban India is what forms the crux of the story.
