Did Priyanka Chopra ditch ‘Bharat’ for Hollywood film opposite Chris Pratt?
Priyanka Chopra has been making headlines for her abrupt exit from Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat, which was supposed to mark her Bollywood comeback.
Even as fans are trying to wrap their heads around the news that Priyanka’s wedding with Nick Jonas was the reason why she opted out of the Salman Khan-starrer (if the director’s cryptic tweet is anything to go by), comes news that she has signed a big-ticket Hollywood film, indiatoday.in.
It is being said that Priyanka will romance Chris Pratt in Cowboy Ninja Viking, a big-budget production backed by Universal Studios. The film will be helmed by Michelle MacLaren of Game of Thrones fame, and is slated to hit the screens on June 28, 2019.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that Priyanka’s remuneration was the real reason why she quit Bharat. According to a leading daily, she quoted a fee of around Rs 13-14 crore, which the makers found too high. She was offered Rs 6.5 crore, keeping in mind various factors including the fact that her last release, Jai Gangaajal (2016), failed to draw the audience to the theatres.
Priyanka will be seen next on the big screen in Isn’t It Romantic, in which she plays a yoga ambassador named Isabella. The romantic comedy, which also features Liam Hemsworth, Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine, will release on Valentine’s Day 2019.
