Theatre Play: Chokhe Angul Dada
Goethe-Institut Bangladesh on 29 March will staging Manoj Mitra’s popular play ‘Chokhe Angul Dada’ presented by six young talented theatre activists from the local theatre group ‘Aranyak Natyadal’.
The performance, directed by Ishtiak Hossain, will be staged in Bangla.
The event will take place on at 6:00pm at Goethe-Institut Auditorium, house 10, road 9 (new), Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
After his death, Chobkhe Angul Dada, the questionable hero of this performance, played by Rezwan Pervez, asks permission to enter into heaven. However, when he is asked to list his competences, he has nothing to proclaim but his criticism for others. It even goes so far, that Chobke Angul Dada starts to question the lord of heaven, played by Masud Ahmed, and all his creations. A dangerous game begins, which eventually drives him to the door of hell.
The six young talented actors, Ishtiak Hossain, Director of the play, Rezwan Pervez, Mahafuz Munna, Masud Ahmed, Nur E Jahan (light) and Uchchash Kumar Ghosh (music) have been rehearsing for last three weeks at the Goethe-Insitut Auditorium and now they are in their final preparations.
