The world received its first glimpse of ‘Spectre’ on Friday with the release of a teaser trailer for the 24th James Bond film on 007.com.

The worldwide release is set for 6 November. The trailer opens with Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny telling Daniel Craig’s James Bond, ‘You’ve got a secret — something you can’t tell anyone because you don’t trust anyone.’

As usual with Bond films, most of the plot details of ‘Spectre’ have been kept under wraps. The official description: ‘A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.’

The name SPECTRE was featured in Ian Fleming’s Bond novels and stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. It’s a fictional global criminal syndicate and terrorist organization, led by supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, and first appeared in the novel ‘Thunderball’ and in the film ‘Dr. No’ in 1962.

MGM, Sony and production company Eon also announced Friday that ‘Spectre’ will receive an Imax release with the November 6 opening, making it the second James Bond movie to be shown in the giant-screen format. 2012’s ‘Skyfall’ saw an opening weekend domestic gross of $12.55 million in Imax theatres.

Imax did not disclose the final Imax grosses for ‘Skyfall,’ which hit $304 million in the US and $1.1 billion worldwide. Daniel Craig returns in the lead role as long with Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q. New cast include Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux. Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are producing and Sam Mendes is directing from a script by John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
