Dhaka: For the longest time, there have been murmurs about Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan teaming up with Amitabh Bachchan for Vijay Krishna Acharya's next.  It has finally been confirmed that Amitabh and Aamir will be starring together in the upcoming Yash Raj Films project Thugs of Hindostan. In a career spanning over three decades, this is the first time that Khan will be working with Bachchan.  

The production house YRF made the announcement official, ‘Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor), the writer-director of the all-time YRF blockbuster Dhoom 3, teams up once again with Aamir Khan in Thugs of Hindostan along with Amitabh Bachchan to give the audience a never seen before experience of larger than life filmmaking!’

Aamir too took to Twitter to officially announce being a part of the YRF film. 

Confirming the news Amitabh said to an entertainment portal, ‘It’s a great honour and privilege to be working with Aamir and to be working with Yash Raj again and also to work with Victor, I just look forward to that moment.’

The YRF film holds a double bonanza by bringing together Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan together for the first time ever. The leading lady of the film will be announced soon.  

Along with it, it's also mentioned that the film has been locked for a Diwali 2018 release.   

Reports had earlier suggested that Hrithik Roshan has walked out of the film. Now it seems that Aamir has replaced Hrithik for the role.

Thug is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, with whom Aamir previously worked in Dhoom 3.

A report also suggests that the film will also feature Jackie Shroff in an important role.

Said to be based on the novel Confession of A Thug written by Philip Meadows Taylor, Thugs of Hindostan is only a tentative title and may be changed later. The shooting for the film will begin only next year.
