Dhaka: Young filmmaker Juboraj Shamim’s short film ‘Contrast’ has been nominated for the screening at Atlas Awards International film festival. The film is based on life of a child-labour and his desire for going to school.

The festival began on 15 January, organised by ‘Atlas and Aeris’, will continue till January 31. ‘Contrast’ is the only movie nominated from Bangladesh.

When asked about the achievement, the director said, ‘Every director has desire to make films for big screen. But, uncertainties create frustrations. Getting nomination for an international platform is obviously an achievement for a filmmaker. It accelerates our dream.’

Juboraj made other shortfilms such as ‘Anamika’, ‘Ichche’ and ‘Putul’. ‘Putul’ got the Best Film Award in Sheikh Russel National Children Film Festival in 2016.
