Bangla film star Shakib Khan boycotted again
Dhaka: The Bangladesh Chalachitra Paribar, a platform of 16 film industry unions, has banned Dhallywood film star Shakib Khan cancelling his membership from Chalachitra Shilpi Samity over his remarks about the senior and protesting artistes against joint-production films.
The leaders of the organisation also declared Shakib 'persona non grata' in Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).
"Shakib Khan has been declared 'persona non grata' in BFDC for making derogatory remarks about senior artistes and indecent remarks about the protesters," said Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, convener of Bangladesh Chalachitra Paribar, at a press conference at BFDC on Friday evening.
They also demanded the resignation of information minister Hasanul Haq Inu as he gave censor certificates to two joint-production films - 'Nabab' and 'Boss-2'.
Senior actor Alamgir, who was also present at the press conference, said, "Shakib is a popular actor. He has made much money but has lost his sense."
At the conference, the leaders also announced to expel the director post of Abdul Aziz.
They also demanded to boycott all of the programmes of the Information Ministry.
"Breaching the joint production policy, the government has opened the path of screening the foreign films in our independent country. That is why, all the programmes of the Information Ministry will be boycotted," the leaders said.
Following the guidance of the local organisation, the censor board has allowed to release 'Nawab' and 'Bose 2', they also alleged.
Faruque, Rozina, Anjana, Deepjal, general secretary of directors' association Badiul Alam Khokon, artistes' association president Misha Saudagar, its general secretary Zayed Khan, Riaz, Popy were also present, among others, at the press conference.
Bangladesh production house Jaaz Multimedia produced 'Nabab' and 'Boss-2' films for the Bangladesh part.
