Actor Razzak’s condition improved

Dhaka: Legendary actor of Bangla films, Abdur Razzak, who was admitted to capital’s United Hospital on Friday evening, is now out of danger, said his younger son Samrat.
Samrat, who is also an actor, said, Razzak was taken to the hospital at about 7:00pm as he was suffering from pneumonia and respiratory problems.
Samrat asked the countrymen to pray for his father’s early recovery.
On Sunday night, Razzak was transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Legendary actor Razzak, widely known as Nayok Raj or King of Bangla cinema, was admitted to Square Hospital when he suddenly fell sick while shooting for Bappa Raz film Kartooz in March 2014. Later he returned home but he was suggested to stay home.
Noted actor and film director Razzak was born on 23 January 1942. He was given Independence Day Award in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Razzak also won National Film Awards five times.
While studying at a college in Kolkata, he made his first film appearance in Ratan Lal Bangali.
Razzak's first big break in cinema came with his role in Zahir Raihan's Behula in 1966.
Razzak's major breakthrough in movies was his performance in Salahuddin's Tero Nombor Feku Ostagar Lane. He acted in other movies like Neel Akasher Nichey, Maynamati, Moner Moto Bou, Swaralipi, Osru Diye Likha, Jibon Theke Neya, and Obujh Mon.
He went on to make more than 300 appearances in Bengali and Urdu movies. He also directed around sixteen movies.
