Dhaka: Excitement for the Dhallywood enthusiasts is now in full throttle as Eid is nearing. Four movies are ready to entertain the moviegoers with the much hyped Mahiya Mahi starrer Agnee 2 is now added to the list. The movie was supposed to be the first to get the censor certificate, but manages to get it as the last one. The movie got the uncut censor certificate on 9 July.

The movie has been creating a lot of buzz in the country’s film industry for last couple of months. The Agni sequel has managed to be in the centre of attraction because of its various promotional campaigns. The latest one was the launching of Magic Mamoni, a video song from the film featuring Mahi, on YouTube. The video attracted millions of viewers and has gone viral on internet. Jointly produced by the Bangladeshi Jazz Multimedia and Indian Eskay Movies, the film has been termed as the ‘most expensive film till date’ in Bangladesh and West Bengal. The film is directed by Iftekhar Chowdhury (Bangladesh) and Himangshu (India).

Agnee 2, like its predecessor, is an action-flick with Dhallywood beauty Mahi playing the title character. With the film, Mahi is ambitious to carry her position in the industry to another level. She had to learn new dance steps, fighting technique for the film.

‘I have been satisfied with my acting. Agnee 2 is the result of my hard labour and sacrifice. I believe hard work always pays back. I hope the film will continue to make buzz after its release,’ said Mahi.

‘It will break all the records. The film will create history in the industry, and probably will take me to new height,’ Mahi added.      

The film will be screened in eight countries after its Eid release.

‘The film will be released in India, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, England, Australia, Italy, and the US from 14 August,’ said Jaaz chief Abdul Aziz.

The entire team of Agnee 2 will join the world tour. Besides Mahi, the film also stars Om, Ashish Vidyarthi and Robiul Islam in pivotal roles.
