The wedding shehnai is still playing sweetly when the groom falls sick, and the irked bride marries another man from the guests.

No, this was not a funny tale at all. This never-heard-of took place at Rampur, a town in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, reports BBC.

According to the report, the groom Jugal Kishore had epilepsy, a fact that he kept secret from the bride Indira who got enraged when her would-be husband collapsed after a seizure.

Unfortunately, Jugal had the epileptic seizure right when he was reaching out to put garland around Indira’s neck.

Extremely outraged by the incident, Indira did not thought twice before asking to marry another man from the wedding guests, when Jugal was being treated at the hospital.

The man, who was a relative to Indira, on his turn promptly accepted her proposal and married her at the same wedding.

The BBC report, published on 18 February, referred to a Times of India story that said after returning from hospital heart-broken Jugal tried to persuade Indira to change her mind, but only to be refused.

At first Jugal’s family reportedly filed a complaint with the police, but later they withdrew it.

A local police official was quoted by BBC as saying that there was nothing to do since they had been already married.
