Police on Tuesday filed a case against 52 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami for torching two buses in Tarakanda and Trisal upazilas,reprots UNB

Tarakanda police officer-in-charge Ali Ahammad said sub-inspector Sanwar Hossain filed the case against 52 people, including 32 identified and 20 unidentified BNP-Jamaat men, on Tuesday morning on charges of torching two buses in Tarakanda and Trisal upazilas during the ongoing 72-hour nationwide hartal, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

Tarakanda upazila chairman Motahar Hossain Talukder and Phulpur upazila chairman Abul Bashar Akanda among the accused.

Earlier, at least five people received burn injuries as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the Haluaghat-bound bus of ‘Shyamoly Bangla Paribahan’ in Tarakanda upazila at about 10:00pm on Monday.

Besides, miscreants set fire to a bus parked in Trisal upazila headquarters at 12:00 midnight on Tuesday.

However, no casualty was reported.
