1 killed in blast while ‘making bombs’
Dhaka: A young man was killed and another sustained injuries in a blast while they were allegedly making bombs at a Hazaribagh residence in Dhaka on Thursday.
The deceased, aged about 24, could not be identified immediately while the injured was Raju Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Raju claimed the deceased as his brother Jisan, said hospital officials. However, his identity could not be verified independently.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman said the incident took place at about 4:30pm while the duo was making bombs at the house at Bhabolpur lane behind Nawabganj police outpost.
Later, police rushed in, rescued the two injured youths from the house and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
One of them died at the DMCH at about 6:30pm, Masudur said.
