PM pays homage to Bangabandhu
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi 32 on the occasion of the 95th birthday and the National Children’s Day 2015.
The Prime Minister first laid a wreath at the portrait of the great leader in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi at 7:00am.
She stood there for some time in solemn silence as a mark of respect to the Father of the Nation.
Cabinet members, PM’s advisers and parliament members were present on the occasion.
Later, Sheikh Hasina, flanked by senior leaders of Awami League, placed another wreath at the Portrait of Bangabandhu as the party President and paid rich tribute to the architect of independent Bangladesh on behalf of the party.
Senior leaders of Awami League and its associate bodies, including Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sen Gupta, Maria Chowdhury, Syed Ashraful Islam, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Obaidul Quader, Advocate Shahara Khatun, Advocate Qamrul Islam, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, AB Tajul Islam, Ahmad Hossain and Apu Ukil were, among others, present.
